About Sara

Individual pictures are not at all my favorite; however, I had one taken.  If you could only see the rest of the picture...  I do have to say that our "picture day" was an interesting one.
I started with Indiana Funeral Care
in the Fall of 2007 as a student.  After graduation David Ring, the owner, offered me a full time position.  I accepted and I have loved it ever since.  I live in Nineveh and commute here daily.  The drive is long but working here is worth it.  I truly love working with the families and helping them during this difficult time of their lives.  My co-workers are great and we work well together.  I couldn't ask for a better group of people to work with.

Indiana Funeral Care offers low cost funerals that still gives the family the chance to memorialize their loved one life.  Why pay thousands of dollars for a cremation when you can have a cheap cremation for $890 and spend the other thousand that traditional funeral homes charge for providing a memorial service.  We are a local Funeral Home Indianapolis Indiana.

Cheap Funerals

Thursday, June 11, 2009 by Sara IFC
Just took a call from a family that lives in Florida but is from Lafayette.  Their son found our American Legion brochure and when he went down to visit took it with him to show his parents.  They called today and asked if we would help them when his mother passes.  They were going to use a local funeral home but realized that our funeral home Indianapolis Indiana was a cheaper.  He wanted to make funeral arrangements Indiana so that it was a smoother transition at the time of her passing.

Cheap Caskets Indianapolis

Tuesday, May 5, 2009 by Sara IFC

Chinese import caskets are on a rise.  Funeral homes all over are looking to cut cost and Chinese caskets seem to be the way to go for some of them.  Casket companies such as Batesville Casket Company, already have enough to worry about with the rise of cremation sales so they can't ignore China imports that are sweeping the U.S. industry.
Cheap Caskets Indianapolis is bringing a new meaning to some in Indiana.  Here at Indiana Funeral Care we make sure that none of our caskets are imported.  Low cost caskets can be purchased locally, funeral homes just need to look around.

Veterans Funerals

Tuesday, March 24, 2009 by Sara IFC

Indiana Funeral Care provides funerals for veterans while still offering low cost caskets and cheap cremation options.  I just had a call today asking me information on how to help them with a VA Funeral.  I explained to the family member that we specialize in funerals for veterans; however, any funeral home can assist a famliy with this.  The loved one stated that she was thankful for the information I gave her.

An Indiana Funeral Home, IFC, can and will help anyone that needs assitance with makeing funeral arrangements.

Friends Funeral

Friday, March 13, 2009 by Sara IFC

On March 15th one of my close friends, Nici passed away.  During her battle with cancer we talked about what kind of service she would want.  Nici wanted to have her wishes known so that it would make it easier for the family.  She talked more with her family and we worked together to create a beautiful visitation at her school that she taught in.  What a way to celebrate her life.  There were so many people that came out and stood in line to pay their respects to her family.  It was a funeral that will never be forgotten.

Low cost funerals can still have meaningful memories.  Although our funeral home is out of Indianapolis we were still able to provide the same service that a local funeral home could.  Indiana Funeral Care is a statewide provider.  Pre planned funerals can help make a difficult situation just a little easier.

Burial at Arlington

Friday, January 16, 2009 by Sara IFC

I had the opportunity to take Mr. Waugh to Arlington National Cemetery on the 8th.  What a honor to see family and friends come together again to witness such an honorable event.  Some of Del's friends from work came along with old friends from past jobs and those that servered with him during the service.  The burial was amazing with all the active military escorting him and then having the taps played by the band. Words can't describe that moment.

The good thing is that any honorribly discharged veteran is eligible to be buried at any national cemtery for free.  Funerals for veterans can be arranged by calling us at 317-636-6464 or visit our website at Indiana Funeral Care.

About us

Tuesday, December 16, 2008 by Sara IFC

Family pictures...it's nice to have them but not everyone likes having them taken.
This is our funeral home family- going from left to right, starting with the ladies, is Leanne, Sara, and Colleen.
The men are Jim, Martin, Joel, Tom, Roger, Jeff, and David.
Check out our individual biographies if you'd like more information about someone.
I feel very fortunate to be a part of this group (of hooligans) because we can rely on each other, we communicate well, and we get along pretty well.
We compliment each others talents and have the same common goal in mind: taking good care of the families we serve and treating them as our own.
It's hard to believe that anyone would look forward to going to work, especially a mortuary, but instead of dreading the inevitable workday, I look forward to
the unknown events of the day to come. And giving my cohorts a hard time whenever possible... ;)

Pre Planned Funerals

Monday, August 25, 2008 by Sara IFC
When someone passes away and arrangements are to be made things can get crazy.  Some families don't know where to start.  Pre-planned funerals can help relieve that stress on loved ones.  When the time comes the family can rest assured their wishes have been made and can be carried out. A pre planned funeral can be funded or unfunded.  If you want to pay now, set up payments, or set up an insurance assignment, you can.  If you just want to make arrangements and pay at the time of need you may do that too.

Cremation

Cremation can be as cheap as you make them.  Direct cremation with Indiana Funeral Care is $890.00.  Additional cost that a family might have would be death certificates and/or an orbituary.  Cheap funerals can be just that; however, you can use the money that you might spend at other firms towards keepsakes.  We have urns starting as low as $65 with engraving and jerewlry as low as $130.

Medicaid Funerals

Friday, July 4, 2008 by Sara IFC
It is hard to find any Indiana funeral homes that will work with medicaid.  The thing everyone needs to know is that with the right type of medicaid benefits are available.  Indiana Funeral Care accepts medicaid and will work with the families.  I will need a social security number or the medicaid number to call and check on the eligibility.  I can usually find something out that day if not the next.  If the family is eligible then we will deduct that cost from the contract and only bill for the remaining balance.   It's help towards an already low cost service.

VA Funerals

When applying for veteran funeral expenses, the discharge papers or DD214 are required.  If unable to find it then we will help them request it.  All it takes is a signature from the next of kin on a request form with some information about that veteran.   We will then fax it to the veteran's administration.  They in turn will fax a copy to us.  At that point we can apply for the veteran's benefits

Cremation Serivces

Friday, July 4, 2008 by Sara IFC
A family called today needing help.  They were using another funeral
home for the cremation of their dad and needed to know how to get in contact
of the crematory that was providing the services.  I was shocked and
told her that the funeral home that they are using should provide that
service for her.  I ensured her that it is part of our services at no extra fee.
I went over our cheap cremation cost and provided her other options to
think about.  At the end of the conversation she was happy with the
information I gave her.  She said that I told her more information than the other funeral home had.

Funeral Arrangements in Indiana

Wednesday, June 18, 2008 by Sara IFC

Over the past several years making funeral arrangements has become easier.  Our funeral home staff will meet families at the loved one's home or even at a coffee shop just to make it easier for the family.
Just the other day we met a family member at a resturant so they wouldn't have to be in the funeral home setting.  The family wanted to have a direct cremation with a private memorial service.   They were pleased to find a low cost service with such great value.

Services with cremation

Wednesday, June 4, 2008 by Sara IFC
I had a family the other day that came in and requested services for their dad.  Dad's wishes were to be cremated and not to spend a lot of money on services.  The daughters wanted to carry out his wishes but they also needed to have some closure of their own and a direct cremation just wasn't what they wanted.  After talking to them we explained that they could have a traditional funeral, meaning a visitation and service followed by a cremation.  The daughters were very excited.  They were going to be able to carry out their fathers wishes and still have the closure that they needed all for a low cost.
To add value to the services we had military honors arranged to be conducted at our funeral home since cremation was to follow.  With their dad having been an honorably discharged veteran we wanted to make sure he was honored for what he did for us and our country.  After the honor guard came forward and saluted their dad, two gentlemen who were there for the funeral service saluted also.
It gave them a wonderful feeling for honoring their dad and his wishes, but still having a meaningful service for them.
